Lauren Conrad's Fashion F*** Ups

This video gave me a good chuckle. Especially being the not-so-proud girlfriend of a fanny pack wearing guy. . .He claims that it's incredibly practical while traveling - I swear he only wears it to bother me.

gary & elaine

I am loving this tongue-in-cheek blog that pokes fun at the intricacies of design catalogs. Hop over to catalogliving.net and enjoy! I mean, really, you have to wonder what some of these set designers are thinking. . .

fragments

Go ahead and add this read to my never-ending Amazon wish-list. Fragments: Poems, Intimate Notes, Letters, released earlier this month, is a collection of Marilyn Monroe's innermost thoughts. The blonde bombshell was deceivingly intellectual and complex - I can't wait to see for myself. It looks like more Monroe-centric movies are in the making as well. . .

tray chic

After spotting Katie Lydon's fabulous selection of trays in The New York Times, I thought I'd share a few of my own picks for these perfect accessories. Whether you use your tray to corral remotes on your ottoman, serve cocktails, or hold some pretty coasters, a tray can brighten a room and pull it all together.

And some completely gratuitous photos from Katie Lydon's portfolio:

Have a wonderful weekend!

sleeping with Kate

In case you missed it, shelterpop shared a sneak peek yesterday of Kate Spade's forthcoming line of bedding! Due to arrive in February (mere months from now!), the bedding line will perfectly complement the brand's popular housewares including cheery vases and timeless china.

I'm thrilled to see a few options that don't scream "the Versailles gardens vomited on me." Trust me, as much as I love that look, my boyfriend is slightly less appreciative of feeling emasculated by florals.

Are you so excited??

think pink

I have the perfect solution for those of you suffering from fatigue induced by licking yogurt off of metal lids. It's the perfect way to support a great cause while indulging in a little retail therapy! With October in full swing, many fabulous stores and designers have stylish offerings that contribute to breast cancer awareness. Let's get shopping!

Any of these philanthropic finds would make a great gift for the survivors in your life. What do you think?

when mousey is a good thing

I fell in love with some adorable Marc by Marc Jacobs flats at his store in San Francisco this past summer. So adorable that I can even look past the fact that they remind me of the unfortunate incident of being cast as a mouse in my elementary school's fifth grade Greek play. Seriously - everyone else was some Greek goddess while the four shortest girls were cast as mice since we fit in the costumes. I don't even want to talk about it.

The black patent with pale pink features is perfection. What do you think?

business cas

In the midst of death/suffering/dying/painful/deadness mid-terms, I mustered the strength to put together A WHOLE ENTIRE OUTFIT. I didn't really have a choice since I couldn't don Nike shorts to my internship but appreciate it, because I can't promise it will happen tomorrow after studying for this psychology of health exam. Let's just say I'm going to be up for awhile...
Banana Republic skirt. Is my body always crooked or is that just the knee pop?

J.Crew floral button down, J.Crew leopard print cardi, belt from my Theory shirtdress...

I l-l-l-love layering patterns. I think the put-together-ness almost made up for my sloppy bun. Almost.

67* and sunny

It was about 10 degrees cooler when I got dressed this morning, so I donned this staple fall outfit. So perfect for the fluctuating temps and functional - I managed to cover my coffee spill with the cardigan all day. Is that a law of physics? Thou shall spill coffee when wearing white. I think so.

J. Crew headband to tame the wispies

I'm thinking I need some punchy orange or leopard print flats to brighten up this look. Maybe an attention-grabbing headband? What do you think?

the women who dress america

In case you missed it: "The Women Who Dress America" is now available for your viewing online! The episode, which aired September 19th, features Martha Stewart's interviews with legendary fashion icons Diane von Furstenberg, Tory Burch, Jenna Lyons, and Donna Karan. Hint, hint: there are also a few web exclusives if you're interested in checking out the J. Crew color library...swoon.

Have you seen the special? Could these ladies be any more fabulous?

heirloom potential

I first spotted the fabulous work of Laura Zindel while paging through my beloved Garden & Gun. Mrs. Zindel's handmade ceramics come to life in a 1778 farmhouse located in Guilford, Vermont. What could be more charming? Possibly her collection of timeless and beautiful objects for the home. Do yourself a favor and stroll through her shop. I love that these ceramics manage to be both simple and exquisite simultaneously. Her pieces have serious heirloom potential.

Wouldn't the spider collection make for a perfect Halloween dinner party tablescape?
