for the bookends
As much as I love these pretty bookends, something tells me they're begging to be accompanied by some fabulous reads! And I'm not talking about that Personal Finance textbook. Here are a few of my picks for books that make the cut:

pretty in blue
I took my new statement necklace out for a spin this evening and...I'm in love! My BFF said she wanted to borrow it and our waiter even complemented it--couldn't have asked for better reviews. Honestly, feeling a bit sunburnt and tired, I threw it on over a little black cotton dress and it completely made the outfit. You need this!

closet staple
The shirtdress is far from a groundbreaking trend, which is even more reason to love it! Like any good closet staple, this baby can be dressed up, dressed down, and modified from season-to-season. I recently purchased this beauty at a Theory outlet for $162.50--not bad! A perfect back-to-school outfit, I paired it with brown leather Tory Burch sandals last week and can't wait to add a turtleneck and my trusty Frye boots for the cooler months. Here's the latest addition to my closet (along with a few other finds):

on its way
I am beyond thrilled to report that this Floral Heart Print is on its way to me from the beloved Rifle Paper Co.

I happened to catch Rifle Paper Co.'s Twitter sale yesterday and scored 40% of my new 8 x 10 print. Can't wait to frame this baby! Follow @riflepaperco [hopefully] for more future sales and, of course, follow @TFPW!

practical & pretty
Whether it be the latest Stieg Larsson read, that Personal Finance textbook that needs a little more attention, or a dreamy decorating book, we all have bookshelves (or piles of books on the floor...) that could use a little sprucing. I need these bookends. I promise.

Palmae Bookends, $49.95

Cube Bookends, $24.95

I think my favorite has to be these Fu Dog Bookends by CB2. Wouldn't they look perfect in a living room with a camel sofa and these aqua tray tables?
What are your picks for bookends that pop?

beauty
With my little brother heading off to college and myself entering my final year, my family took off on what could be one of our last family vacations. We conquered California, from Los Angeles to Napa, in 12 days. And, in case you were wondering, 12 days is just a little too much family time.

get in my bag
With the recent addition of these pretty things, I've convinced myself that my new favorite pens need a cute little bag to call home! Of course, when I told the boyfriend that I needed a new pencil bag, his immediate response was, "Jessie, you have eight months of school left for the rest of your life. Is that really necessary?" I guess he knew I didn't exactly have a Walgreen's find in mind.
