While exploring San Francisco last month, I couldn't help but notice that all the stylish ladies were sporting lightweight jackets that cinched around the waist. Really, I'm a sucker for anything that even slightly accentuates the waist as I think it adds a touch of femininity and is usually very figure-flattering. ...that J. Crew is now available on NET-A-PORTER? I love me some J. Crew and I totally get that Jenna Lyons & company are aiming for more luxurious branding, but be wary of those NET-A-PORTER prices. I swear I have seen some of the current collection deeply discounted in J. Crew stores months ago.

I took my new statement necklace out for a spin this evening and...I'm in love! My BFF said she wanted to borrow it and our waiter even complemented it--couldn't have asked for better reviews. Honestly, feeling a bit sunburnt and tired, I threw it on over a little black cotton dress and it completely made the outfit. You need this!

The shirtdress is far from a groundbreaking trend, which is even more reason to love it! Like any good closet staple, this baby can be dressed up, dressed down, and modified from season-to-season. I recently purchased this beauty at a Theory outlet for $162.50--not bad! A perfect back-to-school outfit, I paired it with brown leather Tory Burch sandals last week and can't wait to add a turtleneck and my trusty Frye boots for the cooler months.
